How We Migrate Your Site To Joomla 2.5, 3.x or 4.x
First we will copy your site over to our test servers so that your live site will still be available to the public. Once set up on the test site we will create a fresh, clean installation of Joomla and use special tools to migrate your content over to the new system. Next we will migrate your template (if it can be migrated) or install a new compatible template of your choice. Keep in mind that migration time is a perfect time to give your site a much needed face lift to attract more potential customers.
The most involved and difficult part of the process tends to be the migration of 3rd party components, modules, and plugins. In order to function in Joomla 2.5 and 3.x the extension must be fully compatible with the new system. Joomla 2.5 does not have a legacy mode to allow old extensions to work so ALL of the pieces of the system must be upgraded. In some cases this involves the client purchasing updated licenses for certain commercial products or templates.
Once all of the content is moved and the extensions properly migrated to the new installation you will be able to see the site and approve the final presentation. At that point we will package the installation into a special archive file, move it back to your server, and install it for you in a process that usually takes no more than an hour at most during which time your site may be down temporarily.
